The images in ‘Brooklyn Brief’ depict the flow of documents photographed in downtown Brooklyn by American photographer Gus Powell. The book, a unique publication inside a manila envelope, includes 36 pages of photos, saddle-stitched next to the text “Directions to Downtown Brooklyn” by Robert Sullivan. In his text, Sullivan maps out the streets, businesses and flow of people as well as its changes. In the photos, one can glimpse into the daily movement and business as usual in present day Downtown Brooklyn, a neighborhood that includes courts, schools, subway stations and shops.
